Monitor user Log Files
Hi Guys,
We are having a SUN Solaris T-200 managed node with following template. We need to send an alarm to OV Mgm Server when ever a certain item is written in a user log file on the managed node. We have a log File as /var/logs/dbcheck.log and a cronjob running every hour and executing some queries and updating this log file "dbcheck.log" if something is wrong. Now we need to send any updation added to this log file as an alarm to the OV Mgm Server. Precisely we want to monitor the log file /var/logs/dbcheck.log present on the managed node by HP OV MGm Server. Template availabe on the managed node Quote:root@NodeB[/opt/OV/bin]# ./opctemplate -l |

RE: Monitor user Log Files
yes, this is possible by creating a new logfile template and create the conditions for the logfile template from the OVO management GUI and distribute it to the monitored node.
is there any trouble in performing this action? |

RE: Monitor user Log Files
I have implemented it by distributing log file tempelate to the Managed Tool.
